In Lititz, the best-known bakeries and bagel shops have lines on weekend mornings, so arrive early or order ahead where the shop offers it. Across Pennsylvania, immigrant bakeries add Mexican pan dulce, Vietnamese banh mi bread, Chinese buns, Middle Eastern sweets and European rye to the mix, and many gluten-free and vegan bakeries have opened in larger cities. Lititz is in Pennsylvania, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around Lititz is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Pennsylvania's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.
